Design and implementation of an electronic archiving system for Sebha University archives

Abstract
This study aims to design and implement an electronic archiving system for the archives of the Sebha University. The proposed electronic archiving system converts paper documents to electronic format and saves them in a central database indexed by reference number and department code. The study was conducted at two centers, three colleges, and four administration offices. The requirements of the proposed system were determined through data collection, interviews, personal observation, and access to the archive of the General Administration office. The empirical methodology was used in the design and implementation of the proposed system. The study showed the importance of using the proposed electronic archiving system in government departments. It also showed many advantages compared to the manual archiving system in terms of tracking procedures, retrieving documents, and saving time and effort. The proposed electronic archiving system was tested, and the results showed the possibility of applying this system and circulating it to various departments at the University of Sebha.
