Utafiti huu unalenga kuchambua namna utambulisho wa kitamaduni unavyowakilishwa katika riwaya ya Kiswahili kupitia usomaji wa kiuchambuzi na kiuhakiki wa riwaya Utengano ya mwandishi Mtanzania Said Ahmed Mohamed. Utafiti unaanza kwa dhana kwamba riwaya ya Kiswahili ni uwanja mpana unaofaa kwa kuchunguza uundaji wa utambulisho wa kitamaduni pamoja na migogoro yake, ukiathiriwa na upekee wa jamii ya Waswahili na nafasi yake kati ya mila na usasa, katika muktadha wa mabadiliko ya kisiasa na kijamii yaliyojitokeza baada ya uhuru na Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar. Utafiti unatumia mbinu ya kimaelezo uchambuzi,(descriptive-analytical approach) pamoja na mkabala wa kiutamaduni (cultural approach), na pia kunufaika na nadharia za usimulizi ili kuchunguza vipengele vikuu vya simulizi: wahusika, nafasi ya kijiografia, muundo wa kijamii, na lugha. Matokeo ya utafiti yanaonesha kuwa riwaya ya Utengano inatoa uwakilishi changamano wa utambulisho wa kitamaduni wa Waswahili katika kipindi cha mpito, ambapo mgongano mkubwa unaonekana kati ya maadili ya jadi yaliyojikita katika mfumo wa baba na uhusiano wa kifamilia, na mabadiliko ya kijamii na kiuchumi yaliyoletwa na sera za baada ya uhuru. Lugha ya Kiswahili ya kienyeji, yenye methali na semi zake, inaibuka kama nyenzo kuu ya kubeba utambulisho huu, ilhali nafasi za kijiografia kutoka mji wa Zanzibar hadi kijiji cha "Fotoni" zinaakisi mgawanyiko wa kiutamaduni na kisaikolojia unaoonyesha mtengano wa mhusika wa Kiswahili wa kisasa. Utafiti unahitimisha kuwa "mabadiliko" (dynamism). yaani nguvu ya kuleta mabadiliko ndiyo wazo kuu (leitmotiv) la riwaya, jambo linalothibitisha kuwa utambulisho wa Kiswahili si kitu thabiti, bali ni mchakato unaoendelea kubadilika.

Actions Taken: In the event that any plagiarism or academic theft is discovered in a submitted article, the editorial board will contact the author to request a formal explanation within a maximum period of two weeks from the date of notification.

Investigation and Decision: After receiving the explanation, the article will be referred to the journal's specialized committees, which will investigate the matter and take the necessary measures, which may include the permanent rejection of the article and the imposition of disciplinary actions.
