The state 'country' in the contemporary world has been totally ineffective in providing viable and progressive strategies and solutions to the economic, or military, or political needs and problems that are affecting the African countries individually and collectively. This is due to the changing dynamics of communication and traveling. As a result, it has failed to impose itself as a successful political concept and needs to be expanded to include all the countries in the continent.
The continuing geographical profile of the continent; the close relation of the languages, culture, and history of the African countries in their variety index the need for integration. So also the rich but scattered diversity of the material resources across the African space offer a solid base to go beyond the state 'country'. The establishment of the African Union provides a strong impetus to accelerate the pace of the political and economic integration of the continent and finally accomplish the ultimate goal of establishing the United States of Africa for their strategic importance and safety.
On this occasion, to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the establishment of the African Union and the Silver Jubilee of the Department of Languages and African Studies, Faculty of Arts, the University of Sebha, Sebha in collaboration with the World Center for Green Book Studies organizes.
