Motivations for Irregular Migration Among Algerian Youth and Strategies to Address It

Abstract

Irregular migration is considered one of the escalating social phenomena in Algerian society, with many young people attempting to leave the country through illegal means, often by sea, in search of a better life in European countries. This research paper aims to analyze the reality of irregular migration among Algerian youth by reviewing its economic, social, and political causes, identifying its various manifestations, and highlighting the risks it entails, both at the individual and societal levels. The study also seeks to offer solutions and strategies to reduce the spread of the phenomenon, through effective government policies and social programs that support the stability of youth within the country. The study relied on a descriptive-analytical approach; to understand, analyze, and sociologically explain the phenomenon and address the questions raised in the research problem.
