Plants, animals and micro organisms play a major role in balancing different ecological processes. Their role starts to increase with regard to their hereditary source in different agriculture, manufacture and medical fields in addition to their close relation of scientific, cosmetic and tourist affair. Regardless of the impact of over exploitation , the needs of human beings to exploit these resources has been increased dramatically. This would cause the extinction of organisms, species and population. Therefore the biodiversity protection guarantees a better future and the investment imposed on itself for the time being to protect the ecosystem balance and to improve the productivity against the negative changes occurring in the environment.

For these reasons Sebha University intends to work with Soussa University of Tunisia and High School of Charlemagne of Belgium to conduct a national conference on biodiversity to provide a platform for scientists and researchers to present , contribute their views and discuss at Sebha University campus on 16,17 and 18/11/2009.
